The drawback, in this case, is the absence of high levels of weather and waterproof protection.
Insoles/Comfort
The insoles of not only golf shoes but all kinds of sports shoes decide how comfortable they’re going to feel. When playing a long round of golf, this includes walking the entire length of the course, comfort is key. You want your golf shoes to minimize excessive foot stress and strain.

As for breathability, nothing works better than golf shoes built with mesh uppers often a part of spikeless or synthetic golf shoes. Leather or classic shoes, on the other hand, are the least breathable. The former, more often than not, also comes with a PU footbed or outsoles that keep your feet cool and dry throughout your game of golf.
Spiked vs. Spineless
When metal spikes are a part of the shoe, you run the risk of damaging the hardwood floors often installed in the greens and clubhouses of golf courses. This explains why these are officially banned now. Nevertheless, a few professional golfers still wear metal-spiked shoes mainly due to the large amount of traction they have the ability to hand out.
On the contrary, the spikeless design is smooth and flat. These types of golf shoes have plastic nubs or grippers that make up for the traction provided by spikes. But, needless to say, this traction is inferior to that of real metal spikes.
